Default Help Codes 1128,1130,1137, 1139

I am posting this here because the S4 guys have the same motor. I have a 2001 A6 2.7T. 6 speed. Only 60,000 miles.

I have all 4 codes 1128,1130,1137, 1139. In looking up the codes it says the Fuel Air Metering is Lean and Rich.

What is causing these codes. MAF and or Oxygen Sensors or something else.

Thanks for the help

much of the time its the o2s...i think more than the MAF, which has nothing to do with lean or rich cuz it has no relation to the fuel. The O2s measure the amount of fuel thats not being burned (by measuring, you guessed it, o2 levels in the exhaust gases), and adjust the fuel flow accordingly. however...you cannot really have lean and rich at the same time

lean is not enough fuel, rich is too much fuel....that doesnt make sense to be able to have both...its one or the other.

check the O2s first...either that or possibly your cats.

I was hoping it was not the O2 Sensors. Isn't there 4 of these? Is there a way to check them or just replace all 4. Any suggestions on a low cost supply of these?

Thanks for your help!!
