help with smoke out of exhaust.
me:
I was just wondering if you could help me with this smoke coming out of my exhaust?
reply from az friend:
yeah sure...what's going on? is this a newly put on aftermarket exhaust? give me some details.
me:
car has 120k+ miles, it's an 00 s4. turbos were replaced 40k ago same with timing belt. um piggie downpipes and custom AWE exhaust. it just started coming like a month ago but now its getting really bad, like when I fully stop a cloud puffs out and whenever I shift.
reply from az friend:
if it's white or bluish...it usually means head gasket and you are leaking oil...def. check visiually around your engine and it's seals along the sides. Usually, it's a leak straight through, otherwise a piston ring could be fried...take out your coil packs and see if there is any oil in any of them..if so, that is bad and internally something has busted. Some sort of seal/ring.
:end:
ok so it looked white to me, but as I was driving away one of my friends said that the cloud is like bluish. I was just wondering if its common and is it expensive to fix? anyone have experience looking for a problem?

white is water/heat... blue is oil...gray is fuel... i think i got that right... yeah, just look around your engine to see if you spot any obvious leaks... otherwise take it in to get looked over, theres too many places to say where it could be as well as too many variables to give you a price range.
if the smoke is blue/white is and it looks like a rain cloud is following you, then i owuld get that checked asap.... (turboooos) [:@]just because it aint whining doesnt mean they didnt blow.
