Default help w/ cv repair

I was hoping someone could tell me if the bolt holding the upper control arms threads out of the pinch joint or if it is just pushed in. i got the nut off no problem but the bolt has no interest in moving. soaked in pb blaster for a day. everything else is done i just need to pop out the upper control arms from the pinch joint. any help is greatly appreciated.

It just pushes in/out. Try turning it to break some rust loose. Or a hammer to hit it out. not as hard as you can though, you do not want to mushroom it.

good luck getting it back in. i just did a cv repair a couple months ago and that was the hardest part for me. plus it was raining and i was outside so that made it worse.

yeah, just leave that rust bust in there when it is out and use a small wire brush or pipe cleaner to get rid of any corrosion.

that and the pinch bolt can be a real bitch to remove. I've spent LOTS of time removing those ******** on 2 S4s now. It'll come out, just keep working at it. The bolt needs to be replaced if it's giving you that much trouble, put in a new one. Also, apply some anti-seize grease when you bolt it back up. Not sure if it helps since I haven't had a need to remove mine since applying the grease, but it can't hurt.
