High-pitched hum in sync with RPMs on 2004 B6 S4
Just traded 04 A4 1.8t Ultra Sport for 04 S4 - very excited and car seems to be in great shape.
The only thing I have noticed is a hum, similar to when a crappy car reverses or even a fuel pump malfunctioning, and it IS in sync with the RPMs, ie it goes away at a light cruise below 2,000rpm or at an idle and remains constant if cruising at 3,000+, and ebs and flows with ac/de/celeration.
Could it be the belt tensioner, the idle pulley, or even the fuel pump? Is this a normal issue with this car?
Any insight would be great.
