It's the sensor used with stock brakes. Not sure if that's what's causing the brake light to show up on your dash. You can short it out and see if that helps.

Check this link out and see how some guy does it: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel39.shtml

brake pad wear sensor, not all pads have them. If you got new brake pads that dont have sensors the light will stay on untill you short it out.

Have you brake pads changed recently? Like the day the light came on? Or are they worn down all the way and the other part of the wire is MIA?

I got aftermarket mintex brake pads and they came with the sensor allready in them, though alot of pads just dont have them, theres no way to add sensors to pads that dont have them. Some pads for porsche calipers have it too so the feature can be retained with a porsche based BBK

The light should come on when your pads are getting low, if the pads dont have sensors (which it appears they dont) then the light should come on as soon as you unplug the old OEM pads

You got pads without sensors, so that plug is where your pads would plug into. If you take a piece of wire and short it out like shown in the link above the light on your dash will go off. Its not a big deal, next time you can buy pads that have sensors int hem if you want

hey thank you!! that works great.. my yellow brake wear warning light went out..

however i still got 1 problem... my yellow ABS light is on and my red emergency brake light is still flashing.. they were both on before i shorted the brake sensor.. i think they are on because my ABS modulator is bad?? does that sound right? how can i fix that? i know a guy online who said he can fix it for like $50.. what do you think?

I had my brakes replaced a little while back when I first got the car. The shop recommended that I put in ceramic brakes along with rotors required for ceramic brakes.

Anyway, I want to change my own brakes this time and was curious if any ceramic brake will work? Are there specific characteristics I need to look into before purchasing ceramic brakes at, let's say, ecstuning.com ?
