no, i ended up just washing it and putting a new grill badge on instead... one of these days ill suck it up and do it

 

PB blaster o2 socket and a put a little nut into it and she'll break free(try a pipe at the end of the wrench)

 

its not that its hard to break free i just couldnt get the socket onto it and still be able to get the angle on the swivel socket to let it spin. theres part of the engine harness in the way that i need to move to get a better angle just havent had the chance yet.

I have a B5 A4, so I understand loving the look, but ****...the B5 S4 DOESN'T work! In terms of style and reliability you can do much better for the money, so why are you wasting the money?? I don't get it. Those cars look the same as a 1996 model A4 (and for $12k+??? Out of your f*cking minds!)

Go on...teach me what is SO great about this car versus a newer (and in my opinion, better) car (esp S4, but hello, M3 FTW). The B5 is more readily modable, but the already low reliability decreases exponentially with every increase in HP. And you're still stuck with a 14 year old body! If you've already got a B5, I get it, I understand, but if not, don't you know you're wasting your money?

 

my mouth dropped just like when a drunk white boy yells out "N!&&@" at a party....first of all..lemme just say i forgive you for this. we are all imperfect humans and we all fall short of the glory of god...second of all .. tell me of a car that you can pay 8k for (idk where you got 12) and for 599.00 can be pushing 320 bhp at the crank, as well as low end torque out the ***... plus the amazing "just saved your *** in that curve" ability of quattro??? then for another 4k or so (maybe thats where you got the 12) you can have a 500 bhp 550 ft.lbs of torque monster?? sweetie.. thats more than a brand new porsche 911 turbo(maybe equal or a hair under, im not sure of the latest numbers) that your gonna pay 110k for... m3 you say?? find me one for under 17k in 02 or 03... aint gonna happen.. then to add more bhp by forced induction you have to bolt on a super charger, you cant just chip that baby and get 60bhp and 100 ft.lbs. of torque...
all this and no imature racer boy image of the evo and wrx... its a classy four door sports sedan that when k04'd up can beat almost anything on the road... give me 15 grand and in a few months ill have a b5 s4 that can destroy any m3 out there (that the same amount of money can buy)...

 

Autotrader.com, craigslist, and eBay. I'm not saying the B5 S4 can't be found for cheaper, I'm just saying $12k is a fair, predictable price.

I already said it's modable (infinitely so!)...you don't need to sell me on that! But the running costs alone on a STOCK S4 are incredible...mod it, even a little, and those costs increase exponentially, and I'm sorry...you can do better.

It's not just about speed. Look, I love Audi, but you're better off not comparing it to an M3 in almost every way.

 

and i just have to add.. ive never had mine let me down.. its had some problems, but again so do all cars!!! remember.. this is a forum!!! so most of the times most of the people on here are only on here TO COMPLAIN!!! so think about all the people out there that has had a perfect running car with no problems that dont get on this forum.. i know some get on here to discuss other things about their cars, but a lot of people are looking for answers.. im sure if you get on the bmw, nissan volvo and toyota forums youll see alot of the same stuff.. people complaining about problems and looking for answers...
