hey guys, I'm new to audi forums. I've always been a fan of audis and volkswagens and the time has finally come for me to buy one. I was looking at a 2000 s4 with 70,000 miles. I can buy a warranty for up to 120,000 and get it serviced at any european car dealership. The volkswagen dealership is asking $17,000. I asked a friend of mine who is an audi dealer if it was a good deal or not. He said he was a fan of s4's, but then he offered for me to buy his 2002 a4. It has about the same amount of miles and he has upgraded the following things:

17� BBS “RC� wheels
18� Speedline 2210 2-Piece forged wheels
REVO performance software
Forge “007� Diverter Valve
Stage 3 Southbend “OFE� clutch
Brand new OEM flywheel
New Brakes (within the last 10,000 miles)

I was wondering what some opinions were on what car would be best for me.

Hmmm, that's a toughy, sounds like a nice car. I would personally go for the S4 though.

 

i vote s4 as well. it's a great car... can't go wrong with it.

 

The s4 is definately gonna be faster and a rarer car. A4's are nice, but the s4 is a special vehicle. Plus the 2.7 liter twin turbo vs a 1.8 single turbo isn't even a comparision in terms of performace potential.

 

I've owned both and I would take my 01.5 S4 over my 02 A4. I loved the looks, interior, chassis and handling of my A4, but the power and performance of my S4 makes it the easy decision.

I've said it before... I'd love to have the 2.7T out of my S4 in my old A4.

Go with the S4....just be prepared to spend some money to maintain it. S4's are high maintence.
