Default Intakes

Been searching the forums, and there seems to be a great deal of dissention on the intakes for a b5 s4. I just got APR cat-back exhaust on my car and am looking for a solid reliable intake system

So far this is what I gather

The stock system is pretty good

S-Flow is decent and installs inside the stock airbox

The X-1 is the prefered intake but you can't get them

ABD racing and LLtek make intake systems for the car as well that are somewhat well recieved.

So here are the questions.

Is there an intake system that works better than the stock system that does not pose a larger chance of damage to the car (i.e. open air filters getting particles in)

and secondly

If I go to the stage 3 kit, would I want to scrap that intake for the RS4 stock airbox MAF (APR Stage 3 kit planned) or is there an intake that would be beneficial to leave on the car with the Stage 3

Thanks in advance guys
