Just got GIAC and have some questions/worries
I just drove home with my car now chipped. The thing i have noticed is that in first gear i get only 10psi max in second it will get to about 13ish and sometimes 15 and in third and above it holds 15. This makes me worried that i may have a boost leak. I cannot test this because the pressure tester that i bought from awe is completely worthless (never buy) it cost me 25 bucks and the valve they sent with it wont hold pressure without the compressor attached explain how that makes any sense at all. Oh well im gonne just replace that valve with a bicycle valve and all should be fine. Anyway i have never modded a car with such small turbos so i have never really experienced this problem before. Any advice, is it the chip that is causing this or the turbos or a freaking boost leak or maybe something else i dont know about. O and im not getting any codes.
deffinatley sounds liek a boost leak i think the new GIAC software is putting like 21 with taper down to 17-19? or something silly aggressive like that but msot people run MBC and go with a 19 and taper to 17. But yea get your teaster fixed and/or just try soapy water. Hopefully its an easy one to find.
On the other hand, did u replace TBB and Diverters? and if u have a 2000 did u replace or check the F-Hose?

prusure testers need you to put in compressed air at about 16psi for about 4 sec then move the hose and hold the top of the fitting with your finger there will still be enough prussure in the system. I check my car often. not the best way but when you do it a few times you will se it works.
check for leaks but there is a good chance that if you have a 6 speed and stock Dp's that this can happen as well. wouldn't worry too much. but deffinitly keep trying to prusure test and find a god way to keep prussure. the bike valve is a super idea

Totally normal. It does not give you full boost in 1st.
If you want to make sure, run block 115 with Vag-com & see what the requested/accual boost is.
The AWE tester is fine. You are going to have a very hard time filling up the intake system with a bike pump. You need a high CFM source.

as soon as i get my vag com i will definitely do that. However when i said bike valve i meant that type of valve i just picked one up from checker today for a car tire. I didnt mean bike pump haha that would be miserable. I still plan to use a compressor i just dont understand why they would send me something that wont hold the pressure on its own, so that i can listen without having to hold my friggin finger over the hole. Anywho i modified the tester tonight and will try it out tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a quick fix.
