Default Just got my 2001 s4

And its a beauty! 6spd "stage 2"
Mods- GIAC chip and borla exhaust (came with the car)
I ordered a air intake and OBX headers and turbo manifold,
Im just wondering what kind of HP and Tq gain am i looking at with the headers? I know the intake will provide at least 8-12 hp because my carbonio air intake for my a4 did 15 hp gain and it helped alot but im just not sure of the headers,
Im just curious on the hp gain since im unaware , my 1996 m3 with headers and exhasut went from 241 hp to 263 hp with headers and a catback exhaust
I will post pics of my s4 tomorrow when its daytime
its nogaro blue !

intakes dont do much for our cars. its more popular to go with the darintake mod on your existing air box. if you are going to buy an intake just make sure it comes with a good heat shield cause without one your just installing a hot air intake.

by headers and turbo mani do you mean downpipes and exhaust mani's? off obx stuff you will not get the best flow and may even lose power due to there poor construction and quality. you should try ss autochrome for down pipes if you wanna save some cash. for the exhaust mani's you could heat wrap or thermal coat your stock ones, but upgrading is gonna cost you some cash.

this is what your looking for on the low end:

the high end:
Exhaust Manifold Pair, 2.7t High Flow Cast - 034 MOTORSPORT

obx if fine on low horse power b16'd civics or sr'd 240sx's, but not on b5 s4's.

congrats on the car though! just make sure you stay up on the maintenance or she will ruin your life.

ok......

i would definitely stick with the stock manifolds over those. you'll get a much more noticeable gain in horsepower and torque if you get down-pipes.

the k&n intake is a great intake but not for this car. it comes with no heat shield and the oil that is used on the filter gunks up the maf. you need to go with a dry flow filter. AEM has one, but you still need a heat shield.

since you have a stage 2 tune i would go with a set of ss autochrome downpipes, heat wrap for your current manifolds, darintake mod on your current intake box and some upgraded diverter valves. with these you'll spend about the same money and get way more satisfaction.

Intake, Cold Air, X34 For 2.7TT - 034 MOTORSPORT

this would be the only intake, currently on the market, that works. it is very expensive and the gains, in my opinion, are not worth the cost. the only time this would be a viable option is if you are full stage 3 and have nothing else to spend your money on. the darintake mod is good up to stage 3 power.

here is one version of the darintake mod:

please dont get those. they crack very quickly, are pretty much junk chinese steal. the old saying, "you get what you pay for" applies to this like no other. stick to the stockers, they are quite efficient for our setups..
