Default known problems on MY2005+ S4

i guess i'm asking about the 'B7' s4's...

i'm looking at possibly getting one, but not sure what type of problems to look out for. i read the s4 faq, and am in the process of looking through them as well.

in the mean time... please help an audi n00b please. thanks!

here's my intro

The B7 platform is pretty solid and the FAQ is more oriented towards B5's which are known to have many problems. But the V8 has been around since the days of Ronin and only a few issues happened with certain cars manufactured in 2003. Maybe someone who owns one on here can be more specific than me...

thanks for the response Mott Power. i saw that it was geared toward the b5's but wasn't sure if any issues with the b5's also are prevalent in the b7. hoping someone who owns one or knows more about the b7 s4's can help

anyone else?

Compared to the B5, completely different engines and setups; nothing has been copied over. It's more relative to the first generation S8 and second generation S6 with the same V8 engine. They rarely had any major problems and have been around since 1997 or so.

Yess4 has a B7 and seems to have a lot of knowledge about the car; I'm sure he wouldn't mind you sending him a private message asking about the car.

Did I hear my name?

I've got 60K on mine and so far I've had a relay go out (car wouldn't run); that was covered under warranty. A couple of minor electrical issues with the door, also covered. Recently it started misfiring and I had to replace the coils and plugs, which ran me around $600. Other than that, it's been a solid car and I'm very happy with it.

Not so happy with it today. Just had to drop $3K on tires and suspension work. I don't think it's necessarily the car, but I have had a lot of issues with suspension on my A6 and now this car. Might just be the stiff springs/shocks and these @#%$ CA roads.

I'm in the same boat. I'm looking at the 05 s4 and I am also curious what to look for.

$3K on tires and suspension work? Wow..lol got me nervous now.

I'm looking at one 05 that has 57k Dolphin grey, manuel for 22k which I've only seen pictures of. Does 22k seems alittle high I'm sure I can talk them down? I dont know what is average for an 05 s4
