Default Looking at 2004 S4

Guys,
I'm in the market for a new ride and seriously considering an '04-'05 S4. Looks like a good low mileage (around 30k) model can be had for around $30k.The '04 is the first year of that generation so I'm a little worried about how well they hold up. I've got to admit that I don't have any experience with Audi's other than the factory spec's and info you get from the typical car mags. Is this the kind of car that is going to keep me under the hood, or more likely at the dealer, for a significant amount of time? Any known weak points in the design or parts life? Any advice you can offer on selection of one of these? I really appreciate the help people and sorry for what I'm sure is a fairly common set of questions.

Ben

Known issues with the B6 cars are cars before build date of 10/03 have had 1st & 2nd gear syncro problems. Also some had engine problems. Camshaft tensioners can go bad and if you are out of warranty that is a big bill (engine has to come out.)

If you still want one, find one that was adult driven and taken care of. Mine was and I love the car. It drives like a new car and everytime I drive it I end up with this stupid grin on my face when I step on it.

Thanks for the info.
Might go look at this one this weekend, price and mileage seems ok but concerned from carfax that it might have been a rental. Report says it was registered as a commercial fleet vehicle and sold at auction.

As long as you take care of the car and provide generous amounts of service records Audi will take care of you.
