Default mixed piping and performance

I have a fmic with 2.5" end tanks all around with 2.5" piping. The only problem is, the piping does not allow enough clearance to put my side grills on. Is it possible to run 2" piping on the bottom and 2.5" piping on the top? Meaning, one turbo would feed 2" piping into the intercooler into 2.5" piping into the bipipe. On the other side 2.5" would come from the turbo into the intercooler into 2" piping in the bipipe. Would having two different size piping into the bipipe negatively effect anything? Sorry about the wording, it's confusing.

You should be ok. Have you thought of crimping the pipe to fit the grill?
Basically putting a flat spot on that part of the pipe so it fits.

Hm, I don't know if that would work or not because its right where the pipe connects to the rubber boot so putting a flat spot might make the pipe pop off. Also, I don't think that would make enough room. I'll take some updated pictures this weekend. With all the different size piping is my pressure drop going to be pretty high?

I wouldn't think the pressure drop would be too much unless you are running a much bigger turbo and need all the flow that the bigger piping would provide. On k03's or k04's you should still have pleanty of flow through the intercooler.

IMHO if you would do that than just make them both 2in because i think it would look weird and each turbo might spool diff giving the computer a hard time reading whats going on......(thats a possibility btw not sure if its true)
also why not just heat up the insert and mold it to the pipe.....slap on a heat sheild and BAM! lol
