Default new engine help

so a few months ago my engine ceased up on me and i am in the process of getting a rebuilt engine. I just had some questions on what i should do to the car. 1. should I just get the car up and running and sell it. 2. get the car running and fix whatever needs to be done to the car. or 3. get the car running and throw in an extra 6000 and add apr bi pass valves, samco hoses, dual mass flywheels, comp flywheels, rs4 clutch, apr high flow exhaust kit, apr chip, add new pulleys and all. the cost for 1. is around 5000-7000 the cost for two is about 6000-8000 and the cost for three is 12,000.

I need help because I am going to take out a loan to get this fixed and not sure if I am going to be taking out a loan if i should get it running or make it a stage II toy weekender. ???? please let me know, I am going to be getting this done in the next two weeks so help would be much appreciated

Well since your getting out a loan and the engine is all ready out with new piston rings and seals and everything, now would be the perfect time to increase that loan my man and go all the way. With that you will have a LONG lasting stage 3 or if you want to be a little cheaper stage 3- it only makes sense to me. But after going thru an engine swap please don't sell it or simply fix it up. Go find the mod bug and let it bite you hahaha.

It boils down to what do you want to do with the car? If you plan on selling it, then I'd just get a used engine and have it installed. If you plan on keeping it for awhile then I'd certainly invest heavily on a proper rebuild but purchase components that are easily bolted on at a later date.

however put alot of money into it and you risk loosing it all if the car is ever totalled. An acquaintance of mine is like out almost 15K after a teenager rear ended him in his stage 4 2.8 S4.

If anything happened to my current s4 i would buy another without question, i like them that much. If you could twin turbo the V8, maybe a b6 If your going to be spending $5000-$7000 just fixing the car to sell it i dont think thats really worth it. To get the maximum value for what you have, id try to part out or sell the car as is for as much money as i could, probably selling piece by piece. Then you can take the $12,000 you would have used for option 3, plus what you make from selling the car as is and look for a nice new S4 with low miles. You could buy one modded or stock, but it would probably be in a better place than yours is now
