New guy, what to go for?
Hi guys, I'm new here, and I'm currently in the market for an audi s4. I've owned a 2002 mustang gt for a while now, and a bmw e36 before that, and now I'm ready to get back into a german car. After having the power of the GT, I really need something that will keep me happy, and the s4 seems perfect. It's in my price range, 15-18k, AWD which i'll love in the winter, and it's a luxury sports car. My main question is this; I definitely want to be able to get the most out of my car, I'm gonna look for low to mid 400's as far as hp goes, that's to the wheels. Is it best to go with the biturbo b5, since you can just upgrade your turbos, or should I just go with a b6 and get a v8, and go full bolt on, stuff like that? Let me know what you guys think, I really appreciate it.
Can't stress how much I am excited to get back into a German car!!

you'll never reach 400 wheel with the v8, unless you supercharge and nitro it. the superchargers are like $15k+. they might have come down a bit.
with the b5 you can easily hit that number and beyond with a simple k04 or franken upgrade.
in the end if you want big numbers go with the b5.

they are off the european b5 rs4. they cost around $2500 new.
the new "hotness" however are the frankenturbos. they cost $1800 and have better spool and power curve.
the next above the franken's would be the tial 605's. not sure how much but easily the best for the power youre looking for.
All of these will get you 400-450whp when tuned with proper supporting mods. the tial's will probably net you a little north of 450whp

Keep in mind you also need upgraded DVs, the stage 3 fueling system, upgraded intercoolers, full wxhaust, ECU tune, drivetrain stabilizer, upgraded clutch, etc to pull the power out - swapping turbos alone won't do it. There's a lot of additional expense to reach your target power.
