New S4 owner, questions
I am the proud new owner of a 2001 S4 and a new member to this forum. After reading some posts here, I am curious if it is feasible to convert the 2001 S4 to a 2001.5 for reliability reasons. I have the 100K warranty for the next 2 years, so I don't need to do this right away, but think it might be good idea in the future. The question is, would I spend more on the conversion than on any potential problems? Also, I know this is dependant on how the car is driven, etc., but what types of problems with this model are thought of as "unavoidable"? Thanks.
The only internal difference between your S4 and the 2001.5 is that yours has an F-hose. Best to get a Samco F-hose upgrade or get the MTM/Hoppen upgrade.
The only external difference between the two is that yours has the smaller (classic) S4 badge on the rear trunk.
If you are thinking about the 2002 S4, then the only extra feature was the increased size of the turbo oil lines.
Of course every year had a change in ecu boxes, but you won't be able to change that.
