Default No heat in the S4

Hi,
It's a 2000 and it just won't throw heat.
The engine temp seems to come up fast enough and it is consistant. Sometimes I feel a slight bit of heat. Can't really determine a difference in what I am doing when that happens. It just gets slightly warm once in a while.
I did disconnect the heater core and flushed water through it and it didn't appear to have any restriction; at least not that would eliminate heat.
So if my core and thermostat are ok, Where would I look next?
Thanks.

Red face no heat?

first when was the last Thermostat and waterpump replacement? second do you have any issues with the auto climate control panel? thirdly you could have a blend door actuator issue?

this is always a topic now that winter is settling in. these cars are notorious for having heater core clog issues. i would try flushing out your heater core again. either that, or take it to a radiator shop and they should have equipment to do a much more efficient job than your garden hose. easiest way to prevent heater core clogging is to make sure you only run g12 and only distilled water in your cooling system.

Default no heat

I've seen my car go cold during a drive up to VT. It was very cold, but I watched the temp go down! I checked the radiator fluid, and it was very low! filled it up to snuff and bingo, back to temp. It started to get cold this year again, and i saw the car having a hard time getting up to temp. sure enough, low on coolant. I do wonder where the fluid is going. I know the 4.2 tends to use some oil. maybe they use coolant too!! my car has only 50000 on it, so I don't think I have any other problems (core, etc.).
