Have a good time bro. I ran it earlier this month and got some decent footage. Due to cell phone problems(they don't work well in the mountains in the boonies) I didn't hook up with my friend so I'm going to wait to post my movie until after I get more footage of the cars. Shooting the road is cool, but shooting cool looking cars on the road is much better. I want to make it in early Nov, and maybe it will be cold enough to keep the motorcycles to a minimum, but they weren't that bad when I was there anyway. The guys at Deal's Gap thought my camera mount was great.

are you taknig a claim with the city?
Its a private toll road out in a neighboring county...and yeah - if I can find the time to contact them...maybe tommorow..been saying that all (last week)...but yeah - I'll atleast complain/make some inquiries - I'm pretty pissed. One thing - Hartmann really backs their product and gives a very reasonable cost for wheel replacement...they will even let me rplace the older style B5RS4 wheels with the new B7 RS4 wheels (at replacement cost)...so at least I get to change something rather then pay out $$$ to go back to the exact same I already had (I hate that...)

ptturbo - can't wait to see your vids - and I hear you about all the wild vehicals - check this guys site out - (great stuff)

Killboy has got some picts of me doing runs up on his site. Go to Oct 9-15 and on the second page of picts, that's me in the black 911. I saw him sitting on the side of the road taking shots. I may pick one up.

Can't wait to see some documentary of this, your car is in the shop today right? And are you planning on 19's again or 18's for replacements??

Well drive safe man and have fun.

I'll replace with 19"s...but in the meantime I'm doing the run on my 17" with my snow tires! lol Not as bad as it sounds - and in fact I did much high speed cornering today to feel them out (first time on new KW suspension)...and there is more noticible pitch/roll & squish enough to make me quesay from experiencing the hard core 19" with the Yokos...but for a snow tire the Vreds are pretty amazing - better then most M & S's if you ask me. In fact - considering the possible lower temps I'm likely to face - they may in fact have better grip then a pure summer tire. We'll see...

Well I did it!

2 runs - one on Thursday - in the dry - did the Dragon & the Cherohala Skyway - both were awesome (Dragon is like autocrossing and the Cherohala is more like a racetrack) - Dragon was more technical (and on the Cherohala I was more crusing, relaxing a bit after the dragon run and taking in the sites - though at very nice speed for the most part) on the Skyway. 2nd run on Friday in the rain (then on to Hellroarer (rt 28) and around the smokies to Asheville) ...all the roads down there were awesome - with the Dragon being particularly noteworthy. Traffic was pretty light - but there were plenty of slower folks - most I could pass (eventually...and heh - I'm talking relatively safely - on the Dragon its a bit tight)...a few pulled over....I followed some bikers a ways after - between the Dragon & the Cherohala - on Thursday - that I wished had pulled over [I could have - more or less - safely passed them at one point...but failed to do it - basically you have one oppurtunity to go and if you hesitate - it is lost] ...they were moving pretty good - but not nearly as quick as I wanted to be going...Anyway the good news is that I videoed all my runs from inside my car with a jury rigged setup that actually worked quite well....the wonder of the bungiecord! So now I'll have to figure out how I'll edit it up and post it - etc. Any suggestions on how to post it up would be appreciated. I also took a few pics - and perhaps I can post some in a bit...and the Killboy folks did get my pic (while I was behind 2 real slowpokes....argh) - I did a u-turn (a good trick on the Dragon...and actually ended up doing 2 of them) - wheeled back around and talked with them (David & Katie? - not Daryl) a bit...very nice folks...ended up seeing them a few times on the Cherohala - we were both stopping at turnouts and taking pics - but I they only got 1 pic of me...shame...should be posted sometime next week I figure...)

I'm getting ok with Adobe Premiere 3. It is fairly easy to edit both video and sound with. Posting on UTube is easy. I'm guessing that Google or Streetfire are about the same. I think you have 100mb limits on all of them. That gives you around 7-8min of video and sound with regular .mpeg or .wmv compression. It would have to be a helluva video to still have people watching after that long anyway.
