official Audi oil change intervals
iv heard 5000 miles form some synthetic people, but thats not an "official" audi thing.
EDIT: after a quick search 5k might be more official than i thought haha call the dealer
Honestly there is alot of data out there from people who send their old oil to be analyzed that suggests that oil can be run for much longer than the reccomended ammount, as much as double or almost triple. I mean its just a reccomendation its not like if you dont change your oil in 4327 miles the world is going to end. Personally though i use synthetic and change my oil about every 3000 miles, im sure the oil taken out is still in good condition but i just figure fresh lubrication is better for my engine. Thats not to say i havent gone over that obvi
Its not that expensive, while some people might think its unnessicary i have no problem spending a few bucks and a little of my time changing my oil on a regular basis. If i were you i would just change it about every 3000 miles.

Well, I do have my oil analyzed and have gone 15k on synthetic with just filter changes on my crown vic, but I am looking for proof for the warranty people. They say Official manufacturer recomendations, OR 3000 miles.
I don't think there's a single manufacturer out there that suggests changing the oil in under 6000 miles. So the minimum for non synthetic would probably be 6000 miles before a change is necessary. On synthetic, if you just do daily driving than about 12,000-15,000 miles before changing the oil is perfectly fine. 3000 was a manufactured number by our oil companies and Jiffy Lube
I thought it a bit odd that when I reset the service computer today it said 10000 miles to next service.
I called the dealer and the service manager said he knew the 06's and up had that service interval but was certain an 01 didn't.
Hasn't called me back yet to tell me what it should be,
but why would the ecm reset to 10000 miles for service?
I read the manual on how to reset the service indicator, is there a way to set it to something other than 10000 miles?
