I'm new here, but caught this thread because I'm shopping for an A4 right now.

I currently own a 2002 911 Turbo.

I track it quite frequently, and have become a pretty decent driver on the track, but I will say this, I've been dusted by an S4 out there before. The reason, the driver! He was much more skilled than me.

These street race scenarios between cars that are so different are kind of silly, and in reality, the 'winner' (if there is such a thing) comes down more to driver and also little things such as an exact start. Just a half second jump by a 13.5 second car on a 12.5 second car can make a world of difference when you race from 30 - 70 mph or something. Most of the time, the 'start' isn't exactly the same between cars.
That's how you hear the "My new <slower car here> with exhaust dusted this mullet guy in a Corvette," stories. They sound silly, but may be true just because the guy gets a 1/2 second to a second head start and they only race up a few miles per hour then shut down.

On the track, the driver is everything. I've passed in my base 911 C2 much faster cars like GT3's, Stradales, etc. Then, in my turbo, I've been passed by M3's, Boxster S, and even an EVO one time.
I'm not the greatest driver in the world, and those with more skills (and sometimes just less fear) can destroy me in my 'faster' car.

Well said scott, No one here was trying to put the s4 above a 911, becuase there both great cars. Its just, a modded s4 will not get destroyed by a 911turbo like some are saying. Great looking porche u have, Im thinking of buying an older one myself in a few years.

Oh, I never took it as someone saying the S4 is above the 911. They are very different cars and saying one is better than the other is not really possible without a lot of subjectivity.

The 993 Twin Turbo is the best looking Porsche ever made in my opinion. If I was buying an older one, it would be that one. Next after that would be the 993 C2S. It looks like the 993 Twin Turbo (same body and tale), but it's a standard Carrera engine.

I've tracked my '83 911, and my chipped '87 911. The S4, chipped, is much faster than the old Porsches ( the '87, chipped got about 250 hp), but the Porsche is still more fun to drive, because it requires so much more driving skill, is so much lighter, and so much more capricious. Love them both, for different reasons: the S4 is a bank vault on wheels. The 911 is a wild stallion you have to tame. Both are tons of smiles per gallon.
