I'm looking at possibly purchasing an 01 silver s4 from a guy i know. It's really clean black leather 6 speed car. It's got and uprgaded ecu,slotted rotors,steel break lines, h@r lowering springs, bilstein struts, upgraded diverter valves and 4 brand new toyo proxie tires. It's got 100,000 miles on it and the guy is asking 11,500. What do you guys think? I'm a foxbody and sports bike guy and I'm looking for something a little more classy and comfortable. Is the price high? Is there anything I should look for? I tried to talk him down but he owes 12,200 and is gunna pay the difference. The car is super clean.

 

if it's a 2001.5 then it sounds like a decent deal, as long as the maintenance is taken care of; ask about timing belt (some people have held off up to 100k miles... no good), ask about the control arms, make sure there are no CEL's, and ask how long the chip has been on the car, if it's been like 40k miles or something long... the turbos may be on their final days.

you'll love it though, i switched from racing sport bikes after a drunk driver nearly killed me. i've got a stage 3 and I'm never looking back at two wheels.
