Default power windows

Hi my driver window just quit working it's stuck half way down. there's a scratching noise and it slowly came up, but now the window is all scratched up. was it the motor that scratched it? my warranty is about to expire next week, so will it cover the motor and a new window that was damaged? audi is a 2004 s4.
Thanks!

Sounds like the window regulator, does the motor still power on when you push the button to roll up/down? If so, then the regulator is prolly shot. Get that $hit warranty repaired for sure, they are a PITA to replace.

thank you both for the replies. i'm wondering if it was caused by the tint on the window. i'm dropping the car off tomorrow. i'm glad it happened in the summer, because seattle, wa has rain all other seasons lol.

I doubt your tint would cause any problems, it's pretty harmless. The window regulators in these cars seem to be pretty hit or miss.
