yeah.. im definately going to have to change the coil packs, ill just do all 6... the car runs great and pulls hard.. then all of a sudden, pop from the misfire and sputtering begins and then the car limits boost at 10 psi.. till it starts a new misfire log, im assuming.. then it pulls great again.. so ill put in new coils and go from there..

I'm guessing you fixed the coolant line?

Really odd scenario... hopefully you're right.

What dealer are you gettin the coils from for $35? Always good to hear updates from your build and I hope it gets worked out. You should post some vids!

audi of lexington quoted me a price of 38 a piece.. 20% puts me under 31 for them.. and i dont know.. im gonna start here because its a know weakness. and i know ive been getting coolant on them... then only codes i have are for p1131 and p1113.. internal resistance on both the o2 sensors.. i cant get a misfire code unless i have vagcom hooked up when its doing it.... but oh well.. i can get around just fine.. maybe my stock dv's are busted.. would that cause it? intermittently?? i have a list of needs.. o2 sensors.. stronger dv's, coil packs, control arms.. possibly icm's.. but audi wants 820 for them..

I didn't see this thread from a few days ago, I would have thrown in my $.02 earlier

Anyhow, Ern (and Mott) -- sounds like classic EGT problems. I had the same problems a while back. It would pull hard sometimes, the it would **** out and immediately cut boost.

Here's the kicker, only one of my EGTs was throwing a code, but they both ended up being bad. Even if you're not throwing a code, it still sounds like the same scenario I was in. Sucks, because the sensors are ~$250 each.

Have fun replacing the driver's side -- it's a lot of fun.

okay.. the guy at audi quoted me the coils for the 2.8 v-6.. not the 2.7t.. so yeah.. they are a little more expensive.. but i could only get 3 today, so i replaced the three on the driverside, the ones that were throwing the most misfire numbers.. 1,2 and 3 almost gave me no misfires.. so .. anyways..thats done and drove home fine.. ill drive more tonight and see how well it pulls... i did notice my boost peak was down, instead of peaking at 26 i hit 24.. dont know if thats good or not.. i know i was overboosting at 26 and it scared me a bit.. EPL made this program good for 23.. so 24 is okay.. i guess....
