ive been lookin around at al different kinds of mods for the 2004 S4, most are ext but my qestion is my 2004 S4 is a B6 right?? im not sure cuz all the sights are like S4 8E and S4 B5 or B6 and im not sure which model my car is. its a 2004 S4 4.2L V8.

 

The 2004 is correctly called the 8E, but it is based on the B6 platform, so it is understandable why there has been some confusion.

 

so when a site refers to a kit as the S4 8E mod and another site calls it a S4 B6 mod, they are saying the same thing.

 

Yep... the site that says S4 B6 are just misinformed (or ignorant)!

Be aware that some sites will refer to the B6 body on an 8E S4 just because they want to be clear that they do not mean the B5 body style.

 

its all gravy i just wanted to make sure the difference.

 

Why the hell didn't they just stick with the B series, all it does is cause us a headache to differentiate the two!!
