question about paint
So I was looking at a 2000 Imola Yellow S4 today. Car is real nice and sound mechanically. Only thing that was weird was that the paint in the door jams seemed a bit darker than the exterior. Is that normal? He said it was never in an accident, but that seemed weird to me.
Possibly looks darker due to different contours related to being inside the door jamb? not as clean/waxed/polished as the exterior? faded? FYI there are 3 variants of Imola yellow...i just went through this, and it was a total pain in the ***. The german market had 2 different shades of imola yellow produced, some of which may have carried over into u.s. market production vehicles. these 2 colors are in the paint books/computers. there is a third color variant that is not listed anywhere unless you call dupont directly that was only offered in the U.S. market. good luck.

Me car has had a very sheltered life so far and hasnt/doesnt stay out in the sun

I dont know maybe some one smashed it and didnt use the chasis # to get the paint code and when they sprayed again they used the wrong Imola?
