B6 s4 is not faster then b5. V8 s4 is garbage. I own a silver 01 s4, my buddy has a yellow 01 s4, and his dad has an 05 s4 in blue. I test drove his stick 05, seems that if a b5 and a b6 raced, whoever shifted better would win. As for my chipped s4?? ill burn that thing, and thats not even 1k in mods. That said, tell me what you can do to the new v8's to make em run high 12's for that cheap. Nothing. Forget chipped, even turning up my turbo boost alone has me smoking b6 s4's.
The new s4's are garbage, any car that takes the engine from its larger model and stuffs it in the smaller car is garbage. It has more hp and is slower than biturbo years. the best years are the v6 biturbo years, great potential, $600 APR chip runs 1/4 low 12.9-13.2; $6,000 for k04 upgrade, 0-60 3.9 1/4 11.3 Just like the 350z is garbage, and the nissan g35. All th same engines, when i drive my sisters murano, i laugh to pull up next to those people, the suv has the same engine as the cars. Same with audi, how does it feel driving a new s4 and pulling up to a a8 or an a6 and knowing they have your engine? Knowing that a 2 year older s4 pulls up next to you, and has an engine made just for that model. And then with a couple 100 bucks in mods he roasts your new ride. The s4 is done being the badboy. Audi is sick of people have a 50k car and having it have so much potential. You want that speed? gotta buy a new rs4, no more buying s4's and making them fast. New rs4's do 0-60 in 4.7 with 420hp. Just a chip from APR and some other minor mods has b5 s4 to 320hp, will have you doing 0-60 in 4.8-4.9 and you are still 10 grand under the 06 rs4. All you people with b5's, you made a great buy and our cars are wonderful. People with 04-05 s4's, you picked a shitty year. Just like when maxima had all those classic body maximas, that one year they changed the back lights to circle lights and then they came out with the new body. Whoever bought that one year has the shitty one. Same with the s4, with 04 and 05 are basically the same body as A4's of that year, and they have a hood stuffer from a larger model. Why else do you think they changed body so fast, that body and those back lights suck. People with new 06 s4's, nice to see you have the brand new s4, still the shitty v8 tho, new body that i could maybe get used to ... but still the shitty v8, its not abotu the s4 anymore people ... its about the rs4, new s4 buyers are buying ****. Id rather have an m3 than a new v8 s4. But v6 biturbo years?? ill take that **** over an m3 ANYDAY. Chip, exhaust, turbo boost, 12's like its your job.

Wow been gone for a bit, come back and Audi fans are hating on Audis. Let me get on my firesuit cause what i'm gonna say is gonna get me flamed, but I like the B6-S4. The V8 is much smother than the bi-turbo 6. Granted the potential to make it faster isn't as easy as the B5, but not everyone mods their cars. Some people are happy with a fabulous car right off the dealer lot. Then there are others, like us who mod their cars, in their own way. To say the B6 is garbage is a bit much, and to back it up with little or no facts is a borderline crazy (imho) As for your needs for advice I say keep the S4, again I'm biased. The other cars; I would get a Cobra over a lightning or a Vette. Just my opinion again though, I'd always get FI over NA 
*Sidenote - you considered a GT3? Isn't that a RWD car? Seems like a poor choice for a place that has to have AWD.
