question for s4 owners
get teh new C6 Z06 or put the K04s in ur car, i am looking into getting a s4 too. Obviusly a S4 is a nicer car than all thos eothers but if that doesnt matter u may want to get the new mustang saleen which have alot of performance for the moeny and have potential but may still be slower than a s4 with K04s. I think the cars that will easily be faster than that will be out of ur price range.
Well seeing how ur on an audi forum, well prob going to suggest you keep ur S4 and mod it. Personally i think you should keep it. Z06 r sick no dout, but u can tweak out an S4 to beat it. Lightnings are nice also, but ur not going to get the handlin in that like u would the audi. Plus im not a truck guy.
B6 S4 seems like a very fine car - and certainly beats the B5 stock (and the V8 sounds fantastic and the car looks sharp). I agree that the turbos can be easily modded to beat a B5 - and I handilly trounced the only 2 B6s I've run against - still to me there are issues with the B5 car - they are just too fragile IMO - from the turbos to the hoses to most all the other mechanicals on the car. Don't get me wrong - the S4 is a fantastic car in any guise IMO - but I just feel like Audi may have rushed it out without engineering the thing to be able to last.
And as much fun as a lighting might be in certain situations - I find it unlikely that you will be able to reach the total driving pleasure thats achievable in a tuned S4. Driving pleasure is more then just 0-60 times etc - and I really think the S4 does excell in (all weather) driving enjoyment.

Swing, right now I have a 2001 Lightning, had it for a year. I'm on this site because I'm already looking to sell it and get an S4.
With the lightning you invest $1200 and you've got a 12.5-9 second car (chip, intake, pulley do wonders for them). I think it really is a matter of opinion.
Reason I'm selling the L, swallows gas by the gallon (here in cali the gallons cost $3.00), also the thing is an aerodynamic brick at high speeds.
There really is no denying the brute force of the L however, from any speed you stomp on it and it takes off like a bat out of he\\ (not to mention the wine of the supercharger is music).
The Lightning forums are the best place for info (very knowledgable people/ a little bias towards the trucks though) :
