OK I am looking at a used 2004 S4, car has 29600 miles, fairly clean needs paint on right side due to being Keyed,
runs and drives good but when you place the car in Drive, Park, or Reverse you can hear a metalic grind from the rear of the car as the linkage enguages,
at first I thought it could be the brakes but then I had the salesman place it in park drive, rev while I kneeled in the back of the car under the rear bumper, the sound comes from the middle of the rear end, its almost metalic sounding kind of Grind, anybody ever heard this noise before? mabey its normal? I dont know. I understand its hard to describe and I will be told take it to a dealer, well I will before I purchase it but still would like some feedback. the Warranty is still good up to June 2008.
breaks make a bit of noise so they may be wore down a bit.
