Default Replacing cv axle, PLEASE HELP!

Ok, so me and my buddy are replacing the cv axle on my 01 s4, and on the AW write up it says to remove the bolt holding the control arms in place. I removed the nut on the one end, but the bolt doesn't seem to want to come out. After I removed the nut , am I just supposed to bang the bolt out? We've tried to use a ratchet on the other end, but it's just stripping the bolt, and it seems to be stuck as hell. It looks to me like after you remove the nut you should just be able to hammer the bolt out....

Can anyone give me some insight??

I meant the long blot that holds the control arms in. do i just remove the nut from there, and then use one of those splitters to pop it off? Do I not need to remove the whole bolt?

undo the nut but leave it on part of the threadto safeguard the thread then use the hammer to release the bolt

complicated is this , you have a stuck bolt? the nut came off easy and the shaft of the bolt is rusted in place? then use a torque wrench to move that bolt + lots of WD40 oil releasing and a little heat if required as long as there is no rubber at the joint

I have tried heating it up, putting lots of wd40 and penetrant on it. I have put a socket over the nut and hammered the ever living crap out of it, and it won't come out. Has anyone had the same problem, and what did you do to fix it? My car is taken apart in the driveway and I really need to replace this axle so I can drive to work! My buddy has replaced several cv axles before and says that he has never seen anything this stuck.

I am having the same problem with my '99 A6 with the f-en bolt. I found this which you do not have to remove that bolt.

Good luck!

you can do this without touching the control arms. a matter of fact you can do it without taking the wheel off. just remember to take the center CV bolt out first then unbolt the inner joint from the trans and pull the whole axel out.
-I found I could do this because the wheel was stuck on the car. (VT winters/road grime.)
