S4 AMD Tuning & Insurance query
Hi All,
Anyone got any experience of an AMD Stage 1 ECU upgrade[this gives a performance gain of 50bhp + 50lbft torque approx - although their website torque graph shows considerably more ]. My car is a '99 S4. Also any ideas on where to go to get the best insurance deal?

This is an all too familiar subject (chips). All of the stage one chips claim and get approximately +50hp on top of the stock hp. The AMD is a reputable chip. I don'y know of anyone here with that chip, but, as long as you can have it installed by a reputable tuner and the tuner is local to you, then you should be happy with the results. You should consider a local tuner because you want someone close by should you ever need any further service.
Search the archives on chips. You'll find a lot of posts on the subject and you'll find that APR and GIAC are the top two most popular chips.
