The only visible way to see if the downpipe is actually on the car is from underneath, correct?

Bigger DP's do not throw a code.
AfterMarket DP's do throw O2 sensor codes. You will clear them and they do come back later.
Usually the CAT's take longer to warm up, so either you don't let car sit after starting up, or, get the Stg2+ version of MTM, if available.
But do VAG for the actual codes. It may be something else.

Not on B5 S4's. AWE, ASP, Lebree, pigges if the O2 is moved. None of the normal high end places DP's throw a CEL.

Osh, yes you have to look under the car to see the pipes.

I think I quoted it wrong. They don't throw O2 sensor code. But they do set off Warm up CAT codes.
I have Autospeed DP & Catback. And I do get these codes on GIAC, but not on ASP Stg2+ code.

I don't have any problems with my ASP DP's, no codes at all. Is your car a TIP or 6sp?

What generation of DP's due you have? Mine are the new ones, They use a turbo flange instead of the normal exhaust flange.
My secondary O2's are after the cats, I had to lengthen the wires on them.

No worries, I think we all have not misquoted, or misunderstood a post or 2.

I think I got them around june of this year. Using ASP software now, so not concerned about it anymore.
Getting rid of GIAC-X.
