Yes..good point battery...

Heres something i came across awhiel back..it was on a police forum and they were discussing radar detectors... Im pretty sure i was directed to this forum from another audi forum. But the basic consensus among the police officers was that if they see the person has a radar detector, they are much less lenient in how they handle teh situation.. They are more apt to give the person a ticket as well as give the ticket at a lower speed.. A lot were saying... generally they would pull over at about 7-10mph over the limit... and would ticket most often if it was like 12-15over... below, theyd warn (of course depending on the person and their politeness etc) but if they saw a detector it was almost automatic ticket.

I don't remeber where I saw it but i know it had a link that took me to a highway patrol forum specifically talking about radar and what cops think. it was kind of amusing.

You could tell there were a couple decent guys on there, but the majority of them on that forum seemed like dbags on a power trip

PIGS SUCK!!!!
I just finished hardwiring my v1 this weekend and the sunroof way sux!! There isn't a point in the overhead lamps or on the sunroof motor that isnt under power always. Meaning your v1 is always on if you dont manuallly turn it off. So I hardwired it from the fuse panel and ran it up the pillar and across the headliner. Came out great!!
And just to clear things up if your caught using a radar or laser detector or jammer, you lose it and can have your car towed along with numerous fines...Which just plainly sucks but they have to observe it being in use otherwise they cannot take it..

I don't mean to preach, but a comment like that really makes you sound ignorant.

What about a guy who has served his country, and is tired of seeing his community over run by drugs and gangs and decides to help make a difference rather than sit by and complain about the community? What about the cop that is out there keeping your family safe by patroling the highways looking for reckless drivers, drunks, and people going 20-30 above the limit, which are hazardous on the road. I guess that means all cops are pigs etc... Grow up man.

Eveyone loves to say screw the police, etc... but when the **** hits the fan, whats the first number you call? 911.

It would be nice if everyone would obey the law and then the police wouldn't be needed, but that will never happen.

True speeding 5-10 over might not be the end of the world, but it's a posted law and by breaking you are at the mercy of the officer wether or not to get a ticket or not.Golfman44was going 98 in a 65 is is 33 mph over the posted limit. That's just plain retarded. I am not surprised to hearhe got a ticket. Luckyhe didn't go to jail and havehis car impounded. 20+ over can be written up as wreckless as well and you can get arrested for it. Now if he'd have gotten a ticket for 68 in a 65 then yeah that would be a cop being pretty strict probably having a bad day. Not everyones speedometer is within 3 mphcalibration. Cop cars get the speedometers calibrated frequently, most peoples cars don't. You change your tire size or profile and that affects it to so most cops give you 5-6 mph leway. But 33 mph over is rediculous.

Now instead of bashing the police, lets get this back on track and help him figure out how to install his valentine one detector.

If you know how to solder and have some time on your hands, you can mount the head unit anywhere (even sink it into the dash somewhere) and then extend the sensor and mount them front and back. I had a friend do that in his intrepid with a cobra radar/laser detector. Worked good and you couldn't tell it was in his car if you didn't hear it. He took the LED's and hid them in the guage cluster, and mounted the speaker up behind the ash tray, had the volume **** mounted down under the dash. It was slick.

That's why I hang a doughnut right next to my RX65. It makes it *woooooosh* invisible....[sm=innoc.gif]
