Hi<

I have a problem with my 2000 S4. It happened for the first time about two weeks ago. I stopped at a gas station, shut the car off and filled up. After i was done, my Audi didn't want to start anymore. after one minute of cranking it did start.
So i went into the car wash, shut the car off and after i washed it, i couldn't get it running again. So my dad towed me home.
next day, the car started fine again and drove. after half an hour it shut off while driving, so i just left it where it was. Three hours later it started again.

since then i parked it at home and didn't try anymore.

Does anybody know what the problem might be?

The engine turns over fine andthe battery is good but it doesn't start. Thanks for your help.

 

I had this problem. For me it was the Coolant temperate sensor. Can you run a vag-com and get codes? that will pin point your problem, if you dont have one, they probably will have one at an Advanced Auto part store or something like that you can use for free. It could be something else for you instead of the CTS

 

check the alternator. I had something like that happen to me on a different car but it was the exact same symptoms you've described. But def have it tested somewhere for codes.
