I am looking for a winter car (MyA4 Cab needs a rest in these MNwinters). Knowing I am in the "S" forum, this may seem like a silly question, but I knowthere are plenty of"S" heads who have experience in repairs and/or driving blissthat may have a thing or 2 to say. I am trying to stay under the $7K range for mywinter/2nd car, and know Ican finda newer body style A6 with the 2.8 dog for an engine. Or do I shoot for a car like a 1995 S6 I just saw with 140K milesfor under$7K. (it has had brakes, timing belt, and major stuff done).

I am the type that upgrades when repairs are needed, and I know the S6 would be a fun car to play with in all climates. But any and all advice would be appreciated.Thanks.

 

Stay away from a S car if you don't want to dump money into it.
While it will be cheap to buy, it will not be to maintain.
