Hey guys, i was wondering if yall could help me out, i have a 01 s4 and when i am at wot in first gear and shift to second it grinds just for a split second and then goes in gear. PLEASE HELP! its is drivin me crazy! then after it grinds it is really hard to get it back into first and shift to second, it like binds real hard and i have to really push to get it in gear after it has grinded. but it doesnt happen in any other gears, anything i can do? is it my transmission? thanks

hmmm, ive heard a couple of things like this before, i think 2001sforce had a very similar problem, but im not sure how to fix it, sorry

Sounds like a synchro problem. Not exactly uncommon for B5 S4s. Not cheap to fix either. Better upgrade your driveline if you are going to 1/4-mile it.

DEFFINATLY SYNCROS !!! I ALSO HEARD THAT THE B5 S4 (NOT SURE IF THE LATER MODELS ASWELL ) HAVE PORSCHE TRANSMISSIONS ANY FACT TO THIS IDEA !???
