If yr bro is getting a Z06.. rs6's with a good tune will walk it.
smaller GT like the 2554's have good power similar to the rs6's I believe; then the 28's are more for road racing since you'll be up in the power band and almost always under boost. Yes they will have some lag. SSP is not a real shop. There are too many negative comments about that place. taking money, parts and not paying people as Greg did too me. I waited over a month for him to pay after Pm after PM. If you want a real shop go talk to ASP, wicked or EPL.

as for my girls... it pays off being a good guy

not Ko4/rs6 hybrids. rs6 turbo's.
450 is pushing it for whp on 93. maybe on race. depends on the dyno, tune, and altitude also.

Oh I think I understand... Smaller turbos for lowerspeed and high torque, bigger turbos for fasterspeed and face pulling torque. Autocrossing and 1/4 miles: K04's would make for a good upgrade. Street/Road racing, the bigger turbos would be a good upgrade. And I suppose the RS6 Turbos are somewhere in the middle?

Well a bigger turbo will produce much more torque than a small turbo its just higher up in the RPM range.

And i think some of you need to join Audiworld and Audizine, just because people on here dont have GT turbos dosnt mean a substantial part of the S4 tuning community isnt working with them. People have them, even if a k04 spools faster a proper GT kit will RUN THE **** away from a k04 car like its standing still, even k04's lack alot in the top end.

Your S4 motor would respond great to $15,000 worth of K04's, Fueling, Exhaust, and goodies. You wouldnt have to build your motor and could even do water/meth injection for that much money and certainly have well over 400 HP at the wheels on PUMP gas.

If your going to do GT turbos there is some more work involved. Personally if i wouldnt half *** a 500+ HP motor. Ya you can slap that $15,000 GT kit on there with a stage 5 clutch and be on your way but good luck in a couple months or years. At the very least you need connectiong rods and rod bearings. If your smart you would also do heads, cams, valvetrain.

If you have the money to really build up a car to this extent (600HP) you should stroke the motor to 3.0l to fight the lag, get forged rods, custom pistons, heads, cams, valvetrain so you can rev to 8500 rpm. That is the right way to do it IMO but theres still lots of variation. Sweed mentioned it earlyer, smaller GT's probably dont need a full motor build and stroking, but if your going to GT2871R's then hell yeah you should. Check out audizine and audiworld theres alot of people doing it!

RS6's provide a nice medium, about $1000 more than K04's just for the turbos, you will also spend more on fueling and other stuff. With these connectiong rods are really reccomended, but you dont have to full out build your motor. These are more comparable to the smaller GT turbos... also because your running there on K04 inlets for full potential there are some other things you can play around with like RS4 intake parts, manifolds would make a big difference. Vast/JHM and AUtospeed both do RS6 kits, places like EPL will do it also, but its still really new. I think the goal here was 500 whp. I dont think thats happened yet but with tuning i think its possible.

Also sweeds right you can only hope for these figures at seal level, if your in the mountains keep dreaming.

Euthanasia - It seems to me like RS6 or some kind of GT25 kit is where you should be headed. There are also new Tial kits coming out which should have somehting around the 500 HP mark. Alot of this stuff it just getitng up and running, this summer i have a feeling well see alot of cool new stuf for the B5. Im not hating on audiforums i post here more than anywhere but AZ and AW are the place for serious tuning information. All the bug guys are represented too (EPL, VAST, AWE, ASP etc ectc ect)

the rs6 turbos are the k16's correct...

I think the issue with those was that you have to have all different piping and what not...thats why the hybrids were developed...

Sooks your falling behind! There are modified RS6 turbos sold by numerous vendors that use K04 inlet piping and a modified flange welded onto your downpipes. They fit now! There are FULL RS6 turbos not hybrids.

Hybrids are made by milling out the turbo housing to fit a new compressor blade in. K16 and K24 are porsche compressor wheels that were used in hybrids hence K04/K16 and K04/K24 turbos. RS6 compressor wheels were used in hybrids too but full RS6 turbos have a bigger houseing and a bigger exhaust wheel
