STARTING ISSUES with my 1995 AUDI 80 S2
[>:]Recentlymy1995 AUDI 80 S2 (60,000 KM) has been constantly havingproblemswhen i try to start it. It would usually happen when i would not operated for over 5 or more hours. When startingthe car the starterwill crank for a few seconds and then engine would pop a few times and then quit. After a few minutescranking the starter, i would begin to smell gas fumes. Approximately5-10 minutes after cranking the starter the engine will slowly begin to sputterand awhite-likethick gassy fume smellwill come out of the car'sexhaust pipe.20-30secondsafter the carbegins idle everything will operate normally.
sounds like you got a leak in your headgasket somewhere....especially with that white smoke coming out after it warms up....i would suggest checking how well the head is secured on...that might be your only problem besides the starter...either that or its just your starter and its just burning all the gass thats been flooding the combustion chamber. either way i'd check the grounds on your starter, scrub the grounds down with a wire brush then try it again..if it doesnt do any better, buy a new starter..keep your old one just incase though.....you have an s2???!!!
