Default Stealership (jeep story)

You know how we joke about the dealerships being stealerships.
Well while I was traveling on business a cel came on in my wife's Jeep Cherokee. (great jeep btw)
So rather than worry about ruining it while I was out she left it at the dealership until I got back.

So I drive the s4 over to get it, and when I startthe jeepup I noticed 2 things.
1. The cel was just from a slipping belt. and
2. someone STOLE my exhaust!!

Seriously, my Jeep sits on 33inch tires with a 4.5 inch lift so it is easy to get under, and while it was there at the stealership someone just rolled under it and took a saw and cutt out the center portion of my exhaust where my high flow cat was.

I was amazed, and went into the dealership to notify them that I didnt authorize any work, or hacks on the jeep. Turned out they were robbed thursday and some crooks stole all the catalytic converters they could get there hands on. Weird, but hey I guess that type of stuff should be expected at the...

STEALERSHIP.

lol.

Doesn't sound like it was necessarily the dealerhips fault. Thefts like that are common, as well as spare tires, tailgates, wheels etc.Are they at least taking steps to replace the stolen parts?

Your right. It is not the Dealers fault. I have no grudge against them. But it was fun to tease them aboutit. And then I thanked them for filing a police report for my car even before I arrived.

how much plantinum is in a cat. I cant imagine it is much. But I do imagine that is what they had on their minds. I mean they didnt eve touch the rest of the car.

my bet is it was someone who worked at the dealership (mechanic wise) that probly owned the same jeep and noticed theexhaustand wanted it so went back after , knew exactly where it was and took that exhaust..

not a lot, just enough to make it look like a pathetic robbery with no good reasoning
