What are you asking? It's a thermostat, the lower the temp, the quicker it will open, letting the coolant go through the radiator.

Do you run hot? Do you race? Do you live in the desert?

You know it's like 10hrs of labor to replace the thermostat?

ok ya, i know about the labor, but im getting it replaced with the timing belt kit. i went ahead and ordered the 71c, because ive asked around, and its a pretty uniform answer, ..its better to run cooler to an extent, and this is within said perameters. my next question was, because i will be running cooler now, can i safely run more boost? and if so, use a manual boost controller or what?

The car will not run any cooler, it will have more cooling capacity. The thermostat will just open sooner, so it might take longer to warm the car up. The cylinder temps will remain the same. But when you thrash on the car, the thermostat will be open more then the regular one, giving you more cooling, do you get it?

don't worry about it, i live in mid florida and drive my car hard all the time in 90+ degree heat in pump mode. the car willpretty much regulate itself -itwon't make aton of power if its hot out. personally, i would leave the oem thermostat in it, unless you plan on running race fuel and flooring it relentlessly.

Ok, do it & see what happens. It will run cooler on start up, & it will take longer to really hot when you are flogging it, but it will run in the middle, unless you don't put in a thermostat.
