to tint or not to tint?
"abacab"
I actually don't know what tint percent it is.
I bought the car exactly the way you see it, just as I have it.
I've just seen other S4 without tint and think it makes a big differance.
Sorry to be misleading. I know I made it seem like I did it myself, but I did not.
Get the tint. Follow "ssbogger" s advice and look at the samples and listen to what others are saying.
The tint is a classy look and very practical. Bonus is that it looks cool too.
By the way, nice car. I test drove an '04 S4 Nogaro/Blue Alcantara loaded with 6sp. I made an offer on the car too. I didn't get it, obviously. Would've been sweet and worth the extra $12,000.00. No complaints, though. I really found a gem.

First, you should find out what the legal tint limit is for your area. I'd recommend a quick call to yor state or county po-po. It's a simple question that they'll easily know the answer to. Then, go with that. You could even back off about 5%, if you wanted to stay legal because yor tint will darken with age and sun exposure. If you get checked on it you'll hafta pull all your tint and have it re-done (this is all from personal experience). Annoying, at the least, and claning all that old glue off tha window is VERY time consuming.
But, DEFINITELY tint!

35% is legal in NY, so I guess that is most likely what I will get. I'll take a look at 50%, but I think the general consesus is that it is too light.
I'll post some pics when it is done.

Looks like I had the legal limit in NY wrong. Guy at the shop said 35%. The list that Brrman found and Bentframe posted says 70% (which is like nothing).
So, I guess I'm going to play it safe and go with 50%. I don't think I'll have any problems with that unless the officer is having a really bad day.
Here is a link to the listing of legal tint for each state (Thanks again Brrman and Bentframe).

Try a search on this subject. I've contributed some posts within the last 6 months on the subject - it's one of my areas of expertise.
BTW: Audis have 88% front and 77% rear tint in the stock windows. Therefore, you should note that when aftermarket tint is added, it will lower these numbers by more than the aftermarket tint number that is listed.
