I rarely pay attention to the volt gauge but lately when I look down I notice in appearing quite high. Would it be a bad thing if it were to ever get to 16v. I have yet to get that high but was wondering if thats as bad as it bottoming out. Thanks in advance

 

i always have right around 12-14 reading on the gauge...but who knows how accurate that thing really is..

 

thats about what im at just seemed kinda high. But who knows.

 

car should read just about 14... unless its off and then it should be 12

 

14.4 is normal, anything over that is bad, you can start to blow sensitive things. My guess would be a bad voltage regulator, thats on the back of the alternator.

 

sounds good im just about 14 it just seemed high since it wasnt in the middle, where it looks better. lol

 

yep i got mine to 16 volts some how... lol drove home and pulled my whole front end off.. I waiting for my new bosch alternator to come in
