couple questions...

couldnt you just wire up the fan to come on with a switch, when your in danger of overheating, or is it part of something, that, by taking it off lightens a load off of the pulleys??

and what is a efk?

I can't see why you couldn't link the fan to a switch, if you actually watch your temp gauge enough to know when it is overheating, and believe that the gauge is accurate... i sure won't bewatching my temp gauge. I would rather have it on all the time or temp sensitive.

EFK is Electric Fan Kit...

FYI, I did mine in 30 minutes. I used a 32MM bicycle wrench that I had to work on my BMW steering rack and a pair of giant channel-lock plumbers pliers. You can lock onto the front of the pully bell. It came off very easily. When my fan clutch was bad, the car began to overheat in 90 degree stop and go traffic or prolonged idling.

I dont think it would be worth it, but then again it might. How much of a difference is there? And I dont see why you would take the whole fan off when you could just run it to a switch. Seems more safe.
