Default Tranny swap 1992 S4

Hi folks, I'm pretty new her, so maybe this has been posted before..??
My problem is that I have a 1992 S4 with automatic tranny,
and now I want to rebuild to manual transmition.
I have'nt found anyone who coult tell me exactly what to do yet,
only smal answers like, "It's a lot of work", "sell you're car and buy a new"..
That's not the kind of answer I want..

I need a good, maybe step by step, explenation of how to do this..

Anyone please help..??
If there's a site on the web that has this info I'll be glad to know..

Is money no object? because yes you could convert it to a manual tranny but its gonna cost more than your car is worth FYI. Also, this is prob a job for a professional. Take ur car to a good shop and get an estimate and then decide how bad u want the manual tranny on this car

Ok, you say it's expensive, but what is it that is expensive..??
I can get the tranny, and all other hardware for not much money..
Myself and my friends does not have problem doing all the mechanic work ourself..

So with this, I can mount the manual tranny, and all the other hardware..

After that, is ther much **** left, with the electrical, the CPU (brain)..?
Or is my job done..?

its not that hard really you just have a few things to change/add, flywheel/ add slave cylinder for the clutch/ third peddle the markings are already there/ gearshift

I've been "doing" car mechanics (sorry about bad english) for many years now,
and also did a complete engine restoration..
I've also had about 30-40 cars, that I've done a lot of things with..
So I see myself capable to do this job..
Yes, I know it's a lot of work, but I have the time, and a good garage..

My problem is the same as you guys show me..
I get different answer from all I ask..
Some say it's just change the hardware, other says that I need a complete new wiringsystem..
That is my problem.. I have never talked to anyone that has really done this job..

So if I can get a wrecked S4 that I can take parts from, is that all I need..??
I have no plan about changing all electrical system and brains, I dons see how that is nesecery..

My automatic tranny is also starting to give me some problems..
Works fine in 1. and 2, but goes to N when it's suppose to go to 3..
So it seems either way I'll have to use money for this ****,
and I will much more use money to get manual transmition..

no electrics needed apart from the reverse light switch as far as I can see the automatic runs on its own ECU so you wont need it for a manual tranny, no idea what the cost of the tranny would be

that's what it is mate ECU = electronic control unit but it will be redundant when you upgrade
