i think my trans and front diff was overfilled
what is the trans capacities, i think it 2 L. is the front diff .8L and the rear diff 1.8L. i gave them 8L and got none back wtf!!!

i ran my car yesterday and im leaking fluid from every where . i think it was filled by removing the top d2 plug from the side of the trans what ever that is? it is a6speed. is there anything i have to be concerned about? or can i just drain some fluid and go.

 

The 6 speed tranny is 2.7L for tranny fluid, i just went through this process and put in some fresh AmsOil severe gear ($11 a L)

 

As for draining it... i had my tranny out so when i was transferring shift linkage i just open up the huge door on the side and let it run out, however the large set screw on the bottom the the tranny will allow u to drain the fluid also, however it will probably drain a lot cause gravity will take over. I would recommend just refilling the tranny with new fluid just so u can get your amounts correct. As for the diff.... i had that done at the dealer a while back so im not pos. but a simple call to the dealer should give some insight on the fluid amount in there.

 

thanks for the info. back to the shop we go![:@]i just dropped it off we will see tomorrow i hope eveything gets fixed. but as for to day, imoff to the phil car show. i cant wait to sit in the r8 and pretend im on the blvd in L.A. lol. i did find this hope it can help some one else.
