Trans Problem
I recently had a similiar problem after having a rebuild. I actually had to engage the lock out (i mean push down on the shifter) to go into first and second, the entire pattern was shifted over. After half pulling the tranny out, I rexamined the interior linkage, It is possible to adjut the linkage in the car to move the pattern to the left or right by losening one of the socket head bolts and sliding the shifter left or right. worth checking out before you go through all the work of pulling the tranny out.
Good luck! especially if you do need a rebuild!!

Here's a really stupid question.... I don't think I have a reverse lockout. I never had to push down to get into reverse.... Is there a posibility the the reverse lockout was bypassed and the bypass came apart?
Somethings odd there,
the lock out is all in the linkage inside the car,
i'd check that out before pulling the tranny, perhaps you have a fastner loose allowing the shifter to slide to far to the right.
as for the internal working of the lock out, im not too sure, i've never taken it apart.
i'll do some snooping and see what i can come up w/ though.

I'd love to save the cash if all of the problem is in the linkage. I'm going to play with it today and see if I can move the shifter over to the left some. I definately have plans for a stasis trans rebuild but if I don't have to do it now that would make my life easier.

How much different does she feel with the new suspension setup?
