Used S4 Questions-from a noooooooooobie
I too am thinking about purchasing a used S4. However, after reading through some threads here, the turbo reliability has me a bit concerned. I see some with warranties, so I suppose that would be the way to go. I found a rather nice red one, 50K, for $19,990. I have never driven one, and again from reading through some threads, sure looks like a great car....now that turbo thing, hmmm, I just don't know for sure. I guess there is just no way to know for sure about a turbo in ANY car for that matter. My annual salaray is around $90K, so I can afford the car. The AWD seems great to me, living in Ohio with snow and all. I am also looking at some BMW 330ci's, about the same money, but no AWD. No turbo on the 330 though, ahhh, decisions, decisions!
So, can anyone convince me the S4 is the better car? Anyone had both, or driven both? I am just curious.
Looks like a great forum here!

S4. Imo its more exclusive. I see less of them on the road, where I am. In fact I see more vipers here than S4's. Both would be great but I like the Audi. I just got mine and I love it.

Having driven both (I drove the 330xi at the time), I decided on the S4. Better ride for me. Better performance. A little bit of exclusivity (everyone and his brother and sister drive Bimmers in my area). And I liked the way the Audi people treated me. I went so far as to introduce myself to the service managers at both BMW and Audi. The Audi guys were much more friendly and willing to talk - to assure me of their dedication to service and serving the customer. The Bimmer guys were snobby and didn't want to spend time talking. That alone made the deal. I wanted to deal with a company that values their customer, not one that rests on its mainstream popularity.
