I have a 2001 Audi s4, and I hear this tapping noise coming from the engine. It sounds like valve tapping noise. Is this pretty common? Also, is there some way to eliminate it? Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanx!

 

I hear the same noise coming out of mine, only has 32,000 miles on it so I doubt anything is wrong with it, but I guess you never know. Anyone have an answer for this??

 

Are you sure its not just the injectors? Theyre pretty noisy.

 

Do they give of a tapping noise? I had a mazda mx-6 before this, and it had a very similar noise, and it was the hydraulic lifters, so I just assumed that's what it was.

 

make sure your putting god gas in it. my moms car does that if she doesnt put 93 in it. or you can try fuel treatment. its less than 2 dollars per bottle. if that dosent work, get it checked out b/c it could lead to more problems. a friend of mine had a car that did that, it was a gst eclipse. they used the wrong oil filter and air got into the head and caused a permanent clicking noise. either way, noise is sometimes bad
