Whats the going rate for a radio code in LA?
its been months since i have had a working radio in my car! i unhooked the battery while working on my b5 and now i come to find out i don't have the code. i called the dealership where i bought the car and they said it was gonna be a $65 charge even though i purchased the car from them and they were the ones who didn't include the book with the code in it. Rusnak in pasadena wants $120!!!! does anyone have any advice on any other place i can get this done cheaper? Keyes audi also wants $65. any advice would be great. thanks.
That's the basic rate, but I'd hammer on your dealer to do it for free since they didn't give you the book with the code in it. Raise it up to the GM if you have to. It takes them about 5 minutes. I sold my unit to a guy and the code wasn't working so he took it in to a dealer. They did it for free and he wasn't even their customer.
I got my car used with no radio code. I bit the bullet and bought a brand new radio off ebay for like 85 shipped. I agree with yesss4 that you should be able to press the dealer for the code, especially since you are a "valued customer"
well i too bit the bullet today and went to keyes audi in van nuys and paid the $64 for my radio code. On the upside a new cargo net found its way into my cars trunk and the med kit out of an a4.
