What is the largest wheel width on a 19" wheel can fit in the audi space and still be lowered? I'm lookin at a set of 19x8.5's, and I was hopin those would fit. Any input? Thanks

You're already looking for trouble with that setup, but you'll need to give up more info anyway.

What car? Should I assume the S4 (since we are in the S4 forum)?
What stock suspension? (not needed if it's the S4)
Which suspension mod? Lowering springs or adjustable coilovers? Which ones?
How much lowering will you want to do? How many inches below stock?

By the way: It's not just the wheel width that poses the problem. It's the wheel offset and the tire's width, too.

 

Aight, 01 S4, Stasis adjustable coilovers, and obviously I'd go as low as possible without scrubbing or losing handling.

 

Provided you maintain stock offset, wheel width, and tire width... You won't be able to drop it more than 40mm (almost an inch) before you may experience rubbing on hard cornering. Anything beyond that is a risk. Fender rolling is usually the way to go when adding radical wheel upsizing with dropped suspensions. It just gives peace of mind and a cleaner look, too. Of course you have to find a competent tech with the right tools to do the job before embarking on this radical body work, but it is a good mod.
