Default Audi S3 - Intermittent Power Loss

Hi,

I have a really frustrating issue with my 1999 Audi S3

Under acceleration in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears, I am experiencing an intermittent power loss.

The car will be accelerating and then all of a sudden will "jerk" and lose power for a fraction of a second then come back.

The car has also stalled a couple of times when starting with a hot engine.

What is most frustrating is that the fault is intermittent, sometimes it is fine, other times the fault occurs.

I have had the air mass meter replaced a couple of years ago, so I don't think this is the fault, but I am open to all suggestions as to what the fault might be.

Is this a manual or auto?

I've had this issue with my 09 A4 under hard acceleration. It jerks, no CEL no codes are thrown.

I took it to the dealer and they did a software reset and it seemed to do the trick, but I just started noticing it happening again.

Change the coil packs and test your battery.
That will fix it.
Could also be the car is pulling too much timing. Clean the cam pick up sensor
Cheers mate
